There'll be four two-week sessions of Hack Camp throughout the summer:
Hack Camp will be hosted in downtown San Francisco.
We're doing admissions on a rolling basis. Applications for the June 27th - July 8th session of Hack Camp close on Saturday, June 18th.
Hack Camp is for high school students who want to create apps, build websites, and make games. Over two exhilarating weeks, you'll learn fundamental web development skills transferable to game and app development. We welcome anyone ages 14 - 18, no prior experience necessary. Young adults with some experience are welcome as well.
Selynna Sun is an avid hackathon organizer and leader of the Hack Club at Los Altos High School. She loves giving back to the hacker community that has affected her immensely, whether it's through teaching or organizing events. She's going to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in the fall.
Max Wofford is a full-stack engineer and student at Rochester Institute of Technology. He previously worked with Hack Club while he took a gap year in 2015. He's an active participant of hackathons and over 30,000 people have used projects he's built.
Hack Camp costs $1000 for the two-week program. However, inclusivity is extremely important to us and we are readily offering full need-based financial aid (see the question on the application form).
Hack Club is a San Francisco-based nonprofit that brings coding clubs to high schools around the globe. Over this summer we'll be running Hack Camp to spread beyond just the high school setting.
I felt euphoric at the end of each day because I had managed to implement a feature I had previously thought impossible to implement. It really taught me that I could 'distort reality' and make things HAPPEN.
It gave us the freedom to go at our own pace and explore our individual interests.
The way Hack Camp is taught is totally opposite of what our school system is. This camp really opened my mind to the different ways that I can learn.
In the camp's mere two weeks, more than in any part of my life, not in my days as a fetus, an infant, a toddler, an elementary schooler, a middle schooler, a high school freshman, a high school sophomore, or a high school junior, I have never made so many mistakes.
You should bring your laptop, lunch, and a thirst for knowledge. Let us know if you don't have a laptop and we'll do our best to accomodate you.

Camp is Monday - Friday from 9:00am to 5:30pm.
Hack Camp is broken up into workshops and projects. In the mornings, we'll run workshops to introduce new concepts. After a brief break for lunch, campers will work on their own projects to help solidify understanding of introduced concepts.
Students will become comfortable with their own ability to code and solve problems, as well as gain friendships with mentors and other students.
